The model is able to predict the correct trend of the substances" concentration and provide an order of magnitude estimate of the time-varying concentration of various substances.The work done in this research marks a preliminary step towards a more thorough iron corrosion modelling effort, one which eventually simulates relevant parameters and their interactions, as opposed to the individual parameter approach largely adopted to date.This research focuses on water quality degradation arising from internal pipe corrosion processes. The model is a simplified multi-component model that includes several important water chemistry parameters: pH, dissolved oxygen (DO), and interactions from the carbonate system. The model simulates the iron concentration fluctuation as a function of the concentration variation of other related substances, using a numerical integration approach.
